Supporting refugees arriving from Sudan

The recent eruption of violence in Sudan threatens millions of men, women and children who, through no fault of their own, will be forced to flee for their lives, leaving their homes behind in search of safety.

WILL YOU DONATE TO HELP US REACH MORE PEOPLE SEEKING SAFETY?

The crisis unfolding in Sudan is tragic. You can help refugees, who are starting to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK.

Refugees, including those forced to flee Sudan, urgently need your support. They’ve lost everything they have. The heartbreak of leaving your home, your family, your friends or your career is devastating, so it’s vital that people receive care and support to survive and thrive once they’re here in UK.

"The men, women and children fleeing the violence in Sudan have no viable safe option to get to the UK. Even before the recent clashes erupted, Sudanese people were already one of the main groups forced to take dangerous journeys to find safety in the UK, risking their lives in the process. The vast majority of them – including hundreds of unaccompanied children – were recognised as refugees in need of protection." Enver Solomon, CEO of Refugee Council.

At the Refugee Council, we work with a number of separated children from Sudan and we now expect more to arrive. We’re seeing increased demand, particularly for urgent mental health care, as refugees struggle with the trauma and grief brought on by this crisis.

Unsettlingly, under the Governments new Asylum Bill, people seeking safety from Sudan could be locked up or kicked out of the UK. As there is a lack of safe pathways for people fleeing the conflict in Sudan, your support is crucial in aiding us to put pressure on the Government and ask them to prioritise creating more safe routes into the UK.

We urgently need your support to reach more people seeking safety. Donate today and you could help provide life-changing services for refugees arriving in the UK.

EVERY DONATION MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE TO REFUGEES

£25 could pay for a therapeutic session, to help a child refugee who has been separated from their family to cope with their trauma and grief.

£50 could pay for 2 therapeutic sessions, to support a child refugee who has been separated from their family, to learn to have hope for the future again.

Your donation could also help us campaign for a fair and humane asylum system, and ensure that refugees seeking safety are shown the dignity and compassion they deserve, regardless of how they arrived here.
